UPDATE FROM STEPHEN
Our fantastic Under 12 first team had their big day out in Malahide last Saturday, where they played the host team in the Leinster Tennis Autumn League Under 12 Division 1 Final.
The guys and girls in the squad had finished second in a hugely competitive Division 1 competition to qualify for the Final.
They fell narrowly short against a really strong Malahide team, but can be so proud of their efforts that sees them now installed as the number 2 ranked Under 12 squad in Leinster.
The future is bright for these players - and for Monkstown!
An interesting sidebar from last Saturday's Final was that the matches were played on Malahide's Advantage Clay courts, a surface that Monkstown members will get to enjoy when that surface is laid on our courts in the New Year.
Congrats to the Under 12 team that competed so well last Saturday -
Richie Kennedy, Daniel Carney, Darragh O'Sullivan, Ciara O'Shea, Holly Hanrahan, and Moya O'Kane.
Our Ladies Monday Charity league team had a super win last Monday against Blackrock to reach the Final of the League. Huge congrats to Elaine O'Toole (c), Evana Boyle, Genevieve Conway, Sinead Moriarty, Aoife Fay, & Silvie Ryan.
They Play their Final against another Blackrock team on Monday next , 1st Dec @ 10am in Monkstown. Great to have home advantage - so do pop down and support them! Very best of luck!
Just a reminder re the Information Session for Juniors (13+) to be held next Saturday In the Clubhouse @ 4.45 - 5.15 It should be interesting so hope to see lots of you there.
All the best Stephen
LEINSTER MATCHPLAYS
Monkstown held the Orange and Green ball (U10) Leinster match play in Monkstown on Sunday 23rd Nov. 40 players from different clubs from across Leinster region took part and 13 of them were from MLTC. Each kid played 3-4 short matches and everyone had a great fun. Sun was shining and the tennis was fab.
Thanks to Stephen & Jana for organising the event and to all our young umpires and parents who helped to manage the groups. Great team effort from all. Well done!
