MLTC NEWSLETTER 19th  March 2026

COURT  ALLOCATION DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD

Short term misery for long term happiness and thank you for your patience!

Key Booking Rules Reminders:

 SENIORS only Monday to Friday (from 6pm)  -max one game per person in total

          DOUBLES Play Only- All four names to be included on bookings

Note: Monday to Friday, a second game can be booked if there is availability from 24 hours before the slot time, limited to one game per person per day

 Reminder that the following rules must be adhered to for health and safety reasons.

General

•       Courts cannot be booked for singles play

•       No private coaching

•       All four players’ names must be included for each booking

•       Visitors or guests are not permitted during the court construction phases

Juniors

•       Junior play 1pm to 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays (depending on court availability)

•       Max one game per junior Saturday to Sunday

•       No junior play Monday to Friday

•       No junior play Saturday and Sunday mornings (8am to 1pm ) or after 6pm

•       Due to site construction works, for health and safety reasons, all juniors (U18) must be accompanied by an adult at all times

Seniors

•       Senior Play 6pm to 10pm Monday to Friday (max one game)

•       A second game can be booked (Monday to Friday) by a player if there is availability up to 24 hours before the slot time (limited to one game per day)

•       Senior Play 8am to 8pm Saturday

•       Senior Play 9am to 8pm Sunday

•       Max one game per Senior Saturday to Sunday

                             Junior Championships – 17th – 21st August.

The last round of the Blue & Gold tournament is on this week with everything to play for!

Thanks again to our Captains Karen Geraghty and Gus Legge for organising the teams each week.

LADIES SUMMER LEAGUE

We are gearing up for the Ladies Summer League commencing on 11th May 2026. The sign up sheet will be in the newsletter next week so please keep a look out for it.

Please encourage all our junior players eligible for Summer League to sign up. We’d love to have them playing on the teams and representing the club.

 WEEKLY DROP-IN COACHING

This coaching will continue during the Construction works on Wednesdays at 7pm @ €7 per session.  Please let Colette know if you would like to be added to the WhatsApp group.

 WEDNESDAY LADIES MORNING   

16 members played tennis last Wednesday in Meadowvale Tennis Club and we have courts booked for next Wednesday starting at 10am. A text will be sent later with more details. 

 From the contributions that the ladies make when they play on Wednesday mornings, the committee are delighted to confirm that €1,500 (for the years 2024 and 2025) is being donated to 3 charities.

Tennis4Cancer, Laura Lynn and CRY(Cardiac Risk in the Young)  will each receive €500.

A big thank you to all the ladies who played and contributed!

  MEN’S COACHING

Men's coaching will feature again on Monday next at 9pm. All are welcome. More info - contact men’s captain Bill Condon or Stephen O’Shea.

   MEN’S WINTER LEAGUE

Hard luck to the Men’s 1st team who played in very windy conditions against Clontarf1 last Sunday. 

Unfortunately it was not to be and Clontarf took the win with a very strong team.

Many thanks to the supporters who came to cheer the team on!

MEN’S SUMMER LEAGUE

Four men’s teams have been entered into this years DLTC Summer League – classes 2, 3, 4 & 6.

Men’s Captain Bill Condon will seek expressions of interest over the next while regarding the named teams.      

MEN’S MORNING – Sunday Mornings

Mens morning takes place at the usual time of 10am to 12  this Sunday, courts 2 & 3.  A nice opportunity to come along for your ration of tennis!  Followed by a cuppa, of course -  All standards welcome!
