COURT ALLOCATION DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD
We thank you all for your cooperation during this construction phase and for adhering to the court booking rules as set out by email on Monday morning.
For clarification and in an effort to be fair to all members, please note that for the next four weeks the rules state:
Monday to Friday (inclusive) -max one game per person in total (Seniors only)
Saturday to Sunday (inclusive) -max one game per person in total (All)
Note: Monday to Friday, a second game can be booked if there is availability up to 24 hours before the slot time, limited to one game per person per day
Also please note that Club Night will continue to be on for the duration of the works. Another great chance to get out to meet people and play, and it won’t count as your mid week game!
Please also take note of the opportunities for playing in other clubs in the area as outlined in the previous email. Re Meadowvale, Peter O’Donoghue can also be contacted via Meadowvale and he will kindly endeavour to accommodate your game if he can.
💙💛 BLUE & GOLD 2026
It was fantastic to get an insight into the history of the Blue and Gold competition from Pat Cowley last week. A fabulous initiative by herself and Kevin Polley back in 1994.
So this Blue & Gold tournament continues this week (Round 4) and the very best of luck to everyone!
Gold Team: Away to Glenageary @ 7:30pm
Blue Team: Away to Sandycove @ 7:30pm

Many thanks to Conor and our senior players for participtaing, to Stephen for running the session, and to Johnny and Declan for organising — see photo below. The mens coaching group wish Conor the best of luck with his next tournament on the pro circuit. Men's coaching will feature again on Monday next at 9pm. All are welcome. UPDATE FROM STEPHEN
Conor Gannon was back in Dublin briefly this week and he very generously dropped in to some of the adult coaching sessions to offer his unique expertise.
On Monday he joined the Mens League coaching session for an hour of doubles drills and on Wednesday it was the Ladies group who benefited from his time and guidance.
Conor heads off this morning for a two week training camp in Bath,
before going back on the ITF Tour at the end of March.
We all wish you the very best Conor, as you continue your career on the circuit, and we so appreciate your continued loyalty to Monkstown...
Not many clubs can boast having a tennis professional as an active member of their club!
The Winter League is drawing to a close and we still have one team standing....our 1st team have reached the Class 2 1/4 finals and play Clontarf 1st on Sunday next, the 15th, in Clontarf @ 11 am. Very best of luck to Johnny & the team....they'd really appreciate some support!!
There are still lots of other Leagues in progress -
Ladies Charity League - Blue & Gold - Easter Cup - & Junior League.
Best of luck to all teams!
Big Congrats to our club Champion, Mary O'Callaghan, on reaching the Final of the Galway Junior Tour 1000 played last weekend. She was just pipped for the title. Daniel Carney also put up a great performance, reaching the semis of the U/12 singles event.
Our tennis will be very much curtailed over the next four weeks or so - but should be all very worthwhile with a super new surface replacement.
Keep yourselves fit & we'll appreciate our tennis all the more when we get back to our routine!
Any coaching queries give me a buzz.
All the best Stephen
