SENIOR NEWS
Senior Championship 2026
Finally we are here! The club championships are starting this evening at 6pm 🏆🎾
Captains Noreen and Bill are really looking forward to a great tournament.
The draws and schedules are available for tonight, Saturday and Sunday on tournament software.
In order to run the tournament as effectively and efficiently as possible we are asking all players to arrive well in time for your scheduled match time.
On arrival please sign at the desk where your court will be allocated.
Rules are posted in the regulations section of the Tournament Page but in summary:
Match Format - Main events
LS/MS Singles : Full match, 3 sets
O40/U21 Singles: 2 full sets, championship tie break for the third set
LD/MD Doubles: 2 full sets, championship tie break for the third set
MXD Doubles: 2 full sets, championship tie break for the third set.
The Championships Cafe will be open this evening offering drinks and light snacks..So do drop in to have a drink and watch the first rounds of the tournament! 🎾🍷
Don’t forget Tickets for the At Home are now on sale on Payzone. Book early to avoid disappointment.

We will be entering three teams in this DLTC Mens Senior League. (Bill will be looking for expressions of interest in the coming weeks)

Summer Supervision finishes up today (as junior championships on next week)

JUNIOR COACHING – SEPTEMBER TERM
A reminder that booking for the new term will available to book on payzone from Monday at 11am.

All classes will commence the week of 7th September (12 week term)
Please note: there will be no coaching during mid-term - Saturday 24th October (Bank Holiday weekend) – Friday 30th October 2026

MEN’S EVENTS
MEN’S MORNING – Sunday Mornings
Men’s morning takes place at the usual time of 10am-12 this Sunday, courts 4 & 5, followed by a cuppa, of course - All standards welcome!
CLUB NIGHT
Club Night - There will be no club night on 20th or 27th due to the Senior Championships taking place. Do come along instead to watch some great matches and enjoy the refreshments of the club café.

UPDATE FROM HEAD COACH STEPHEN
Another successful week for Mary O'Callaghan as she won the Malahide Tour 200 2026 U/18 Singles title in an all Monkstown Final.
She just got the better of Rosie Kennedy in a very exciting match.
Richie Kennedy won the U/12 doubles title.
Ciara O'Shea won the Donny brook LTC 2026 Junior Open Tour 200 U/12 Singles title.
Congrats all round - exciting to see Monkstown players featuring week after week.
The Junior Lawn Tennis Championships of Ireland are currently being played in Fitzwilliam with the U/14 & U/18 events being played this week.
Both Mary and Rosie have had super wins to reach the 1/4 Final of the U/18 Singles.Their respective matches are scheduled for 12.15 today.
A great achievement to have two Monkstown players competing for a semi final spot.
The very best of luck to you both.
The U10 - U/12 & U/16 events will be played next week.
Best of luck to Robyn, Rosie & Richie Kennedy - Luke O'Callaghan - Daniel & Michael Carney and Emma Niland. Big week for you all.
What a race Sarah Healy ran in the European 5000m the other evening. Just pipped by a fraction of a second for a medal.
Here's to the 1500m on Sat / Sun Sarah.
Sarah Mc Auley starts her campaign at the Hockey World Cup with her first match v Spain on Sunday next - followed by two more games v New Zealand & Belgium & then the all important playoffs.
Very best of luck to the 2 Sarahs as they compete at the highest level of their sport.
Looking forward to the Junior / Senior Championships next week. I'd encourage Mums & Dads to pop down & support the Junior players - there'll be some great tennis on view!

Harry Crossan’s selection to the 76th Annual Fixture DLTC v Belfast & District Leagues
Congratulations to Harry Crossan who has been selected for the Dublin team to play against Belfast & District League team on Saturday 15th August 2026 in Malahide Tennis Club.
There are 2 competitions on the day: the Duff Cup & the Harp Cup – Harry will be playing in the Duff Cup.
We wish Harry and team all the best for the day!
Wishing all the Seniors and Juniors the best of luck in the forthcoming Club Championsips both Senior and Junior. Congratulations to all our members in their great success over the Summer and continued good luck in upcoming tournaments. Best of luck Harry!
