The draws for the Senior Championships have been published.  Please review review the website regularly as the schedule can change

 Please Note:

There will be 280 games played over the next 2 weeks with a very tight schedule, our ask is

  • Keep your unavailability to a minimum,

  • Arrive 15 minutes before your allocated time

  • Keep it to a limited warm-up ( start your warm up at home to avoid injuries)

**The championship Café will not open on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th.   On Friday 15th beer and wine will be available for your post- match social drink.

**We continue to look for VOLUNTEERS for the cafe, for sign-in and lock-up, your help is needed and greatly appreciated.

**If there are any amateur photographers who are looking to make a few bob, we would love someone to take photos of the championships finals day and early evening (what Eric has so fantastically done over many years), and make a photo album for the club.

The weather is fab, the tennis will be fab, Colette and Dermot are looking forward to seeing many of you over the coming few weeks in what has always been a fantastic event for the club

 UPDATE  FROM  STEPHEN

It was great to see Conor Gannon down in the club this week as he prepares to head back out on the road again.

He flies to Sweden this weekend where he will play in an ITF tournament in Bastad.

He then goes to Poland for two tournaments before returning to Ireland to represent Ireland in the Davis Cup tie against China in Dublin (13th & 14th September)

Best of luck in the weeks ahead Conor. 👍

The Junior Tour 1000 event being played in Donnybrook this week is at the semi final stage. Rosie Kennedy has reached the semis of the U/16 singles and Richie has reached the semis of the U/12 singles. Both matches are being played later today....very best of luck to you both.

The summer tournament season comes to an end with the Junior Lawn Tennis Championships of Ireland being held next week in Fitzwilliam.

No less than 16 of our Juniors will do battle in Fitz - with a few playing in the qualies tomorrow & Sat.

Very best of luck to Rosie, Robyn & Richie Kennedy & Zoe & Harry Craig - Daniel, Sam & Sean Carney, Milo Leyden, Mary, Grace, Sarah & Luke O'Callaghan, Darragh O'Sullivan, Toby Sheridan & Beyene Madani.

If you're near Fitz anytime next week you should pop in to have a look at the super standard of the top Juniors in the country.

We have our own Senior & Junior Championships this coming week - with the Seniors starting this weekend.

Do pop down & watch what will be a great feast of tennis...the competitiveness is always great -  and the sportsmanship also shines!

Make the most of the last week or two of summer!

 All the best                 Stephen
