TENNIS 4 CANCER EVENT

Handbags and Gladrags tournament!

We had a wonderful day on Sunday – the Child of Prague did its job and despite a terrible forecast the rain held off!

48 ladies contested a most enjoyable team tournament won by Team Miriam (Captain Ger Speer) who narrowly defeated Team Marie (captain Jana Stevenson) in a close final.

This was followed by the presentation by Grace Owens (founder of Tennis4Cancer charity) and a fabulous lunch provided by generous participating volunteers.

The real highlight though was the clothes sale!  Beautifully run by Rachael & Nicola Mullett and Claire McCambridge.  We had a steady stream of happy customers looking fabulous in preloved glamorous donated items.

A close second was the raffle, where the first prize of a Pamela Scott Voucher, generously donated by Scott Barron was won by a friend of Jennifer Byrne.

We are delighted to say that over €7k was raised and we hope to get that match funded to bring in a total of €14k – absolutely wonderful 👏👏👏

Huge thanks to all who helped – too many to mention but a great demonstration of club and community spirit!!

Guest fees:   All guests must be registered on the sign in sheet on the main notice board in the club house.  Payment for guests should be made via Payzone in  advance.

Dogs:   Members, if you are bringing your dog to the club, for the health and safety of all members, dogs must be kept on a leash and supervised at all times.
