TENNIS 4 CANCER EVENT

Handbags and Gladrags tournament!

 This event takes place on Sunday 7th June in aid of Tennis for Cancer - all funds raised go directly to Arc and Cancer research.

All the tennis places have now been filled, but you can still participate by coming to the clothes sale on the day and/or buying raffle tickets.

 Please drop any gladrags donations into Carol in the office, or leave outside the office.

Also please support the raffle - you can Revolut Karen MacKenna    -  strip of 5 tickets for €10, (bulk discount 30 tickets for €50)

   

SOME REMINDERS FOR ALL OUR MEMBERS

 Please sign your guest in on the Guest Sign  in  Sheet in the foyer – this is required for insurance purposes.  And please pay the Guest Fee on Payzone.

 Please tap your card for floodlights.  Floodlight keys may ONLY be used by coaches.

 

LADIES’ EVENTS

 

Ladies’ Summer League 2026
Our fourth week of Ladies Summer League brought in a good number points as well as some very close three set losses.  Great team spirit and flexibility being displayed across the classes. Many matches have been played outside of the normal DLTC schedule and timings and we appreciate everyones effort in achieving this.  Everything to play for next week with a couple of teams in contention for playoffs. Well done everyone and best of luck next week. Keep up the great efforts.

Five Mile league continues. Best of luck to both of our teams who are playing. 

  

Wednesday Ladies’ Morning   

Tennis as usual from 10am to 12.  Join us for tennis coffee and cake ☕🍰 which is being hosted by  Angela Corkery

 

Welcome to our Retired Ladies next Wednesday 10th

Looking forward to seeing our retired ladies and those of you who are out with injury to view

the club’s new tiger clay courts. Looking forward to seeing you for coffee cake and chat next Wednesday the 10th June from 11am.

League Coaching

Men’s league coaching continues next Thursday the 10th  June.

 

Summer League

 League teams all going well and are either top of group or in play off position, league coaching on going 

 Firsts playing at home ( v Donnybrook) this Friday night so please come out and support!! (7.30pm)

 Seconds are playing at away to Fitzwilliam (Sat 2pm)

 Thirds are home v Lansdowne (Sat 2pm)

 Fourths home v Glenalbyn (Sat 4pm)

 Go MLTC !!!!!

  

MEN’S MORNING – Sunday Mornings

Men’s morning takes place at the usual time of 10am-12 this Sunday, courts 4 & 5, followed by a cuppa, of course - All standards welcome!

 

MLTC HANDICAPS  2026- REGISTRATION TO OPEN w/c MONDAY June 8th

 Entry to the MLTC 2026 handicaps will open w/c NEXT MONDAY June 8th. Entry will be through Tennis Ireland, WE WILL SEND THE LINK AND INSTRUCTIONS TO ALL NEXT WEEK. We would encourage as many members (including new members) to participate in what is a really fun event!

 

 Open for registration: w/c Monday 8th June

Start: 6th July / Finish: 18th July

Handicaps BBQ: Clubhouse evening of 18th July

  

Fr Following on from our very enjoyable Captain’s Day, we are really looking forward to a fantastic tournament.  In honour of our newly opened Advantage Clay Courts, our tournament will be themed around Roland Garros, Paris and all things French! Think Parisian cocktail themed evenings, authentic cuisine in our French Cafe, special Bastille Day celebrations and much much more!!

GUARDIAN AND CHILD TOURNAMENT


Great to see so many participants at the annual child and parent/guardian event on the June bank holiday 

Congratulations to the winners of the orange, green and yellow ball rounds who were:

 Tom and Daniel hunt

Emma and sine Niland 

Ciara and Johnny o Shea. 

 

The donations to the fundraiser Pieta House will be closed today.

 

 

HOODIE LAUNCH

Please see attached flyer for details of sizes/prices – they are on display in the function room if you would like to try for size 

 Please note closing date for hoodie orders is Wednesday 10th June 

 

SUPERVISED TENNIS SUMMER SCHEDULE

Summer Supervision (for children age 7 and older) will be back this summer kicking off on the 29th  June,  11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm (members only)

This will run weekly, 4 days a week – Mon to Thurs

                                        (except the August bank holiday week when it will be Tues to Friday)

Cost is €50 for the entire summer or €10 per week or part thereof.

Now open to book on Easy Payments.

 

  

CLUB NIGHT

 

Join us next Thursday for Club Night!
🕗 Anytime between 8:00pm – 10:00pm

Stephen will kick things off at 8:00pm with fun drills and games.

JUNIOR SUMMER CAMPS

Save the dates for Summer Camps:  Check the attached schedule. This will be great fun-an opportunity to make friends and learn new tennis skills open to all levels – we particularly welcome our new junior members to these camps.

Best of luck to Conor Gannon as Ireland take on Moldova in their Davis Cup Group III tie next week,  10th - 13th June in Moldova 🤞

 Congrats to Sean Carney on winning the Westport Junior Open!

 At the recent U/10 Girls Leinster Matchplay in Rathgar, there were no fewer than 5 young ladies from Monkstown!

Well done  Ali  - Siun  - Lucy  -  Elodie  -  Emma  ..you all did us proud!

 A reminder that the new Hoodies are now available.

 As we enter the latter stages of the various leagues, very best of luck to all teams....crucial points to be picked up at this stage.

 I hope you've signed up for one  ( or 2! ) of the summer camps....do bring a friend and let them see the lovely club we have here in Monkstown!

 Club member & acclaimed author, Sinead Moriarty, publishes her 5th Children's novel today.....what a multi-talented lady!

Her novel follows Grace after a Halloween accident, in a warm children's story of courage & self belief.

"Saving Grace" can be found in all good bookstores.

 Finally, best of luck to all our Leaving Cert / Junior Cert students as they head into their exams.....you're a great crew & deserve to do really well.

Good News and Celebrations

Love has certainly been winning on an off the court these days!

Congratulations to our five members who have recently married or are preparing for their big day.

Simon Cusack, Amy Ryan, Ciara McKenna, Olivia Crossan and Lucy Byrne.

Many congratulations from the Executive and the Members, we wish you all many happy years as you begin this exciting new chapter together.
