MLTC NEWSLETTER 10th July 2026
We have had such gorgeous weather this week and it has been lovely to see the club so busy both day and evening. This week especially it has been wonderful to see the successful Junior Handicaps and so many Juniors playing in the club, having fun and making memories. Congratulations and thanks to Jana Langford for organising and scheduling 240 matches this week, good luck to those playing the finals today.

HEALTH & SAFETY
In the interest of health and safety, please note that dogs must be on a lead and supervised while in the grounds of MLTC.
If you bring your dog to MLTC it should be attended to at all times
Members should not leave dogs while playing tennis.
No dogs allowed in the clubhouse.

MEN’S EVENTS
MEN’S MORNING – Sunday Mornings
Men’s morning takes place at the usual time of 10am-12 this Sunday, courts 4 & 5, followed by a cuppa, of course - All standards welcome!
CAPTAINS UPDATE – HANDICAPS & BBQ
We have been basking in the glorious sunshine every evening this week, Paris style!! A fantastic start to the club handicaps
There is a great atmosphere around the club with everyone enjoying the sunshine, brilliant tennis, the chats and the delicious French cuisine in the Cafe du Paris!!
Everything is running smoothly thanks to our fantastic volunteers doing signup and running the cafe, not to mention our scheduling guru Anne Tweedy!!
Thank you all.
Due to the number of entries and the complexity of scheduling matches, with results coming in every evening, some matches will need to be played this Saturday and Sunday. Please keep checking the tournament software .
Our Hugo Spritz night is on this evening serving delicious Cocktails so do join us on the terrace from 6.30pm…
Finally the Handicap BBQ on Saturday 18th July at the club is now SOLD OUT.

JUNIOR SUMMER CAMPS
Save the dates for Summer Camps: This will be great fun-an opportunity to make friends and learn new tennis skills open to all levels – we particularly welcome our new junior members to these camps.

27th – 31st July
10th - 14th August
24th – 26th August

SUPERVISED TENNIS SUMMER SCHEDULE
Summer Supervision continues next week –
Monday to Thursday 11-1, 2-4 (none on Friday) (members only)
Cost is €50 for the entire summer or €10 per week or part thereof.
Now open to book on Easy Payments.
JUNIOR HANDICAPS
Junior Handicaps Finals on today, 10am start.
We had a great week of tennis matches, all played with great enthusiasm and with good spirit. There were over 100 entries and 240 matches played before finals day!
Many thanks to Jana Langford for organising, also to Eabha Dubh for her very capable assistance. The Junior Handicaps website was put in place by Jonathan McCrea, and many thanks to him for this!
CONGRATULATIONS
Big Congrats go to James Langford who won the Greystones T100 U16s singles event on Monday. Very well done to him, and to all our Juniors who participate in tournaments during the summer!
CLUB NIGHT
No club night next Thursday 16th July, due to the senior handicaps event.
