Volunteers needed for Handicaps Café
We are looking for volunteers to help out in the handicaps café over the next two weeks. If you think you could help out for an evening or part of, please add your name to the sign up sheet in the foyer or contact the office or Aoife O’Shea.
We would be particularly happy to see some men sign up. Many thanks!
SUMMER LEAGUE – Ladies
Very well done to our ladies Team 2 who narrowly lost their quarter finals playoff on Saturday. They played a very strong Brookfield 1 team and put up a great fight!
Congratulation to those who played on the day - Geraldine Speer, Isabelle Blake, Eabha Dubh, Jana Langford & Ciara MacKenna, Andrea Osborne & Ruth Kennedy.
Many thanks to all those who came to support!
SUMMER LEAGUE – Men
MLTC’s men’s summer league campaign came to an end last week-end with our 1st (class 2) and 4th (class 6), hampered by injuries (!), losing their play-off matches.
Overall it was a good campaign with two of our four teams reaching the play-offs. Next year, we will have summer league teams in class 2, 3, 4 and 6 and would expect each of them to be very competitive in their respective classes.
Thanks to Stephen O’Shea, Harry Crossan, Jack and Tim Stokes for captaining their teams and a special thanks for everyone who played, subbed and supported !!
LADIES MORNING
Thanks to everyone for making Friday a fantastic night!
Great turnout on a beautiful summer evening. The ‘hosted’ ladies morning are on holidays until September but courts 2 & 3 are booked for the next 2 weeks for any ladies who wish to continue at 10-12 on Wednesdays. We will continue to book if there are enough players each week.
Enjoy the summer holidays and hope the sun shines!
MEN’S MORNING – Sunday Mornings
Mens morning will be on at the usual time of 10am - 12 so do come along for a hit and a coffee!
CLUB NIGHT – Thursday Evenings
Club night will be on tonight – Pop down any time between 8pm and 10pm for a social game and Stephen will give some coaching support at the beginning of the evening.
This is an opportunity to meet and play with members of varying standards and is a relaxed evening of tennis.
FIVE MILE LEAGUE FINALS
5 mile league finals was held here on Sunday Evening. While our 2 teams didn’t make it to the finals, we would like to thank the volunteers who hosted this event and especially Carole Curtin for organising the entire league and teams.
