Hugh congratulations go to Pat Cowley on winning the singles event, WS 1500 70, ITF MT200 Irish Masters National Open which was held in Elm Park over last weekend.

Parents please note that coaching for Juniors is coming to its end.

REMINDER: TONIGHT 7pm - EDUCATIONAL TALK on TENNIS INJURIES: MANAGEMENT & PREVENTION with WINE & NIBBLES
Alison Quinn will give a talk on “Tennis injuries - management and prevention”. Many thanks to those who completed the survey, this will shape Alison talk making it very relevant to those who are able to attend. 

Wine & nibbles will be provided.

 

 

MLTC HANDICAPS  2025- REGISTRATION TO OPEN MONDAY June 9th

Entry to the MLTC handicaps will open on NEXT MONDAY June 9th. 

As a reminder, the handicaps will start June 30th with finals played on July 12th with BBQ celebrations that evening in the clubhouse.

We would encourage as many members (including new members) to participate in what is a really fun event.

Entry will be through tennis Ireland, WE WILL SEND THE LINK AND INSTRUCTIONS TO ALL ON MONDAY, so stay tuned….

 

SUMMER LEAGUE – Ladies

We’re now entering the last week of Summer League.  We had a lot of mixed results this week with some very nice results.  As it comes close to the finish, without wanting to jinx it but we may have a couple of teams qualifying for the play-offs so stay tuned.

There are 3 homes games this week if you fancy dropping down to support.

Monday June 9th MLTC5 vs Claremont (Captained by Noreen Cleary)

Tuesday June 10th MLTC4 vs Newtown Park (Captained by Karen Geraghty)

Wednesday June 11th MLTC2 vs Shankill (Captained by Ailish McGlew)

 

FIVE MILE LEAGUE – Ladies

As we go into week 4 of The Five-mile League the teams continue to do very well with both teams having had some great matches.  

Congratulations to both teams (captained by Sine Niland and Christina Carron) and we wish them continues success!

 

 

SUMMER LEAGUE – Men

Summer league continues this weekend with the second last round of group matches.  Three men’s teams are in contention for the play-offs and our 2nd team is fighting for class 2 survival in a really tough group.  This weekend’s fixtures are below:

·        1st team – home to Blackrock 7pm Friday 6th June

·        2nd team – away to Brookfield 7.30pm Friday 6th

·        3rd team – away to Blackrock 7pm Friday 6th

·        4th team – away to Leopardstown at 2pm Saturday 17th

Our first team is playing at home on Friday at 7pm, so come out and support them if you can !

 

 

LADIES MORNING

Tennis as usual next Wednesday and will hosted by Jane O’Rourke.

Please come along for tennis coffee and chat.

Save the  date Friday 20th June 

We will hold Ladies Tennis Tournament in the evening to finish before the Summer Holidays!

 

 MEN’S MORNING – Sunday Mornings

Mens morning will be on at the usual time of 10am - 12 so do come along for a hit!

 

 

CLUB NIGHT – Thursday Evenings

Club night will be on tonight!  Pop down any time between 8pm and 10pm for a social game and Stephen will give some coaching support at the beginning of the evening.

This is an opportunity to meet and play with members of varying standards and is a relaxed evening of tennis.

 

  

UPDATE FROM STEPHEN

We had a super turnout for the ever popular Parent / Child Tournament last Monday with 70 members taking part.

 To add to its success, approx €500 was raised for Tennis4Cancer charity.

                      Yellow  Ball:        Harry & Robin Craig

 Congrats all round!  A great fun day was had by all.

 A quick word relating to one of our up and coming tennis talents, Deirdre Mulsow, who produced a sublime moment of skill during a recent training session when she hit a small target with two serves in a row - (akin to a hole in one in golf!)  Maith an cailin!

 I hope you've signed up on Easy Payments for one or more of the Summer camps!

 Just  to wish all our Leaving Cert /Junior Cert students the very best of luck as you sit your exams....you're a bright crew so it'll be no bother to you!
