It looks like Summer may have finally arrived at long last, just in time for our first big Club event of the year, Captains’ Day!
Good luck to all playing on Sunday, it should be a great day and evening, thanks to Noreen, Bill, Sarah and her Social Events team for what I know will be a great event.

LADIES’ EVENTS
Ladies’ Summer League 2026
Another good week for our Ladies Summer League with some nice wins across the teams. Well done to everyone who played and the very best of luck again next week.

Ladies League Coaching has been extended by a further two weeks starting this weekend.

Five Mile League
Five Mile league continues. Best of luck to both of our teams who are playing.
Weekly drop in coaching
No coaching this Wednesday 27th due to Summer league matches.
Wednesday Ladies’ Morning
Will be hosted by Nicole Murphy. 10am -12pm. All standards welcome. Followed by an impressive array of goodies and chats.

Men’s league coaching continues for the next four weeks with exception of this Thursday the 28th.
NB: no coaching Thurs. May 28th due to re-scheduled league matches.
Summer League
All men’s league teams performing well so far with three teams winning last weekend
This weekend’s matches:
our 1sts at home to Naas (Friday 7pm) ,
our 2nds at home to Castleknock (Sat 2pm)
our 4ths away to Glasnevin (Saturday 2pm)
Our men’s 3rds team game is at home on Thursday 28th at 7pm.
Support always welcome for our home matches!
MEN’S MORNING – Sunday Mornings
Men’s morning takes place at the usual time of 10am-12 this Sunday, courts 4 & 5, followed by a cuppa, of course - All standards welcome!
JUNIOR NEWS
SPRING LEAGUE
Huge Congratulations to our U10 girls’ team who won the final at the weekend. Their coaching practice and friendship paid off with strong results on the day.
Congratulations to the entire team of Ali McGill, Ali O’Connor, Siún O’Kane, Alexa Ryan
Our mixed U10 fought a hard battle in the finals however were unfortunate to come up against a stronger team.
Fantastic achievement for this team to get to the finals after a few tough rounds. Well done to the entire squad of Elodie O Toole, Emma Niland, Lucy Broughan, Ali O Connor, James Kelly, Daniel McCusker, Colm Carron, Marcus McDonnell, Johnny Mc Nally and Daniel Hunt.
That’s the end of the spring league for our juniors. Many thanks to all our players, parents and coaches for making this happen. A record number of 10 teams were submitted this league, with many through to playoffs and finals.
We very much look forward to a successful Autumn league.
INFORMATION SESSION
We will be hosting a welcome information session for all our juniors and junior parents/guardians on Monday 1st June at 11.30 am. Just before the tournament

GUARDIAN AND CHILD TOURNAMENT

The highlight of the day for the kids is always the ice cream van!
The junior committee would like to invite sponsorship from any generous member, company or employer for the ice cream
All proceed from entry fees will be donated to Pieta House. (In addition to the charitable donations from the teen tournament)

CLUB NIGHT
Please note there will be NO Club night on Thursday 28th May due to rescheduled league matches. Normal service resumes on Thursday June 4th at 8pm.

HEAD COACH STEPHEN’S UPDATE
Stephen’s Junior Summer Camps
Save the dates for Stephen’s Summer Camps: Check the attached schedule. Will be great fun-an opportunity to make friends and learn new tennis skills. Sign up on Payzone from May 29th. Remember - members can bring a friend to these camps, register your friend when booking on Payzone.
Leinster tennis
The prestigious Mullingar open Leinster Junior 500 tour was held over the last 2 weeks. A great crew of Monkstown juniors played with no less that three title winners. Big Congrats to:
Rosie Kennedy - U18 singles winner.
Richie Kennedy - U14 singles winner.
Daniel Carney - U12 singles winner who played his clubmate and good friend Michael Carney in the final.
The sportsmanship show by all was very evident. MLTC are very proud of you all!
Junior Spring League
Well done to the U10 girls junior league winners and the U10 mixed team who were runners up in the spring league finals in Meadowvale last weekend.
Leinster Schools
Leinster school cup – plenty of Monkstown players involved:
Charlie Carney and Luke Sadlier Blackrock College Leinster Junior cup Division 1 winners.
Robyn Kennedy - Holy Child Killiney, Leinster Junior cup Division 1 winners.
Jessie Woods and Ciara O’Shea – Harold National School. Leinster Primary School Division 2 winners.
Leinster orange and green ball tournament
We hosted a very successful Leinster orange and green ball event (7-10 yo.s) last weekend in Monkstown which saw some of the best boys and girls in the country showcase their talents.
Over 30 juniors took part representing clubs from all over the province including 8 from MLTC. Well done to all involved, special thanks to Yana Langford for helping to co-ordinate everything on the day.
Interpros
Congrats to Pat Cowley and Terri Corbet for their involvement in the recent Interpros with Leinster retaining the title.

FAREWELL ANNE!
We would like to wish Anne Crossan all the very best in her well-deserved retirement. We sincerely thank her for the great contribution she has made to the club over the past number of years.
